Graduation Pic

This was the best pic out of the ones I had taken. Unfortunately I still haven't photoshopped out the wrinkles. Much better than ironing, I think. It definitely helps to have a friend with a nice camera.

Guilty Little Pleasures

My newfound obsession of the month is cruising KSL classifieds and Craigslist. I mean, I've always used it as a tool, but it's better than window shopping! Of course now I dream of all the cute puppies that I want and the millions of different things I could do to my house, not to mention the houses that I dream about while perusing the real estate sections. It really is a buyer's market out there if you are looking to buy in the $300K to $500K price range. I found a cool old picket fence that someone was giving away for free that would be great in the kids' room, which is getting redecorated old beach house style. Unfortunately, I was too slow. Oh well. You know what they say...one man's junk is another man's treasure. What I really want are beat up old shutters that would work as a window treatment. Hmmm... Millions of ideas and hours of time all on 2 simple websites.

16 Days

Graduation looms and I have yet to find a job. I'm getting a bit nervous, eh? I have found some cool job options and put out quite a few resumes and am finally getting a couple calls back from some of the places. Here are a few of my favorite options:

Winder Farms General Manager
Miller Sportspark Events Coordinator
ABC/CW 30 News Events Coordinator and Marketing

All of those sound really fun to me. None of them require completely just sitting behind a desk. I would be able to get out and do fun things. Yay. Hopefully I will hear back from more than the Winder Farms dude.

HOSA

It's HOSA week this week. For any of you who don't know what that acronym means...ok, most of ya'll probably don't...it stands for Health Occupation Students of America. I have been involved in HOSA since I was a junior in high school. It started as a filler after I quit gymnastics and didn't know what to do with my time. My now-best-friend, Marie, dragged me in. Well, I reckon I was thoroughly sucked in because after my years of competition in high school (even went to Nationals my senior year) I continued to help out. Now I am the technical advisor. Haha! That's not a joke. I take care of anything computer that has to deal with state competitions. I spend a week of my life devoted to HOSA, stay at a hotel up in Layton and put my own life on hold. It is a blast. Sad that I still have the same sense of humor of many high school students. I'll be honest, they probably have a more sophisticated sense of humor than I do. Well, what can I say...my childlike love of fun and the fact that I still jump when I get excited are always going to be a part of who I am. That and the snort when I laugh. *Sigh*

The pic is from this year's Mountain View HOSA chapter.
