For Friends

I want to send a thanks to all of those who have so wonderfully helped me with all the wedding plans and helping make this time special for Todd and I. You are amazing. It has been a stressful time with all the moving and helping people move, wedding plans, job hunting, and all the many others things that add up to a headache, heartache, backache and celebration. I appreciate all the friends who had a desire to help make this time easier for us and showed their love by selflessly sharing our excitement with us.

To You, thank you.

Bridals...Take 1

For the five of my readers who are curious, I have put together a little collage with some of the bridal pics from the first shoot that we did. More to come later!

Family Reunion and Campin' with the Kids

This past weekend we were campin' with the fam. All the cousins and their kids on my dad's side of the family got together at Crystal Springs in Honeyville, Ut. Only one side of my family has any cousins so it is always a treat for me to go camping with the cousins that I do have. It is only in recent years that I started to become close to them. It all started with Sunday family dinners at Aunt Cindy's house and progressed from there.

This is the first year that I have "had" someone, if you know what I mean, and so fit into the grown up crowd. Of course Todd was out of town on business and so it was just me and the kids. That didn't matter though. I have finally ranked into the higher echelons of adulthood. I didn't realize that all that meant was keeping an eye on all the children and bringing my own food to cook.

We all had a blast, though. Two days and hours of swimming in the sun later we have returned with a little more color (although we tried hard not to burn), a little more tired and with a few new friends.

T Minus 8 Days and Counting...

Little chocolate cowboy boots, fake flowers, real flowers, the super secret groom's gift, more pictures, airport pick-ups, house guests, cooking, cake baking, and the hair...what to do with the hair, suit fittings, marriage license, honeymoon plans...Wisconsin? Guess I get some good cheese, continuing to unpack, thank you notes, teeth whitening, centerpieces, cake topper...



These are a few of the many wedding things and/or tasks. Lots to do, too little time, and to top it all off, the most tragic thing of it all...I have officially run out of time for the LGN workout to actually be effective.

Breaking Dawn...as if this isn't on everybody's blog

I read "Breaking Dawn" today and although it was extremely predictable with a few twists thrown in, Stephanie Meyers was still able to pull me into her writing. I think that it is her easy-to-read writing style and her character voice. It seems to create a cadence that rolls of your tongue...even though it is in your mind as you read. That, and I am a sucker for a good 'ole predictable romance. ;)

Tilex and Clorox and Bleach, Oh MY!

AAAAA-HOY! Can I tell you about cleaning? It seems these days that is all I do. Todd goes out of town so often that I have ended up doing much of the post-moving cleaning both in the old house, old apartment and, of course, the new house. I have become the cleaning supply aficionado, and could probably tell you which cleaning agents work best for which mess. I do have to add a disclaimer, however. I am very glad that Todd and those who helped us did most of the heavy moving, and that nobody was hurt in the near-crash piano experience.
"In other breaking news..." we now officially have most of the wedding plans done. Wahoo! I do need to finish flowers and finalize the cake and a few other miscellaneous things, but the end is near! The end of single life, that is. I will say that my first attempt at wedding hair was not exactly disastrous, but definitely not how I envisioned, so it is back to the drawing board for me. Of course, we have an absolutely fantastic photographer who, due to not enough time, is willing to do another bridal/family wedding shoot with me. How amazing is that? She (Ashley) was the one who suggested it because she didn't have the time (due to fading natural light) to try many of the ideas she had been thinking about with me. I will have to try new hair at that one. She has a couple of the engagement photos posted on her site. She has a lot of other great shots and styles on there, too. You should check 'em out.
